What does a vet do anyways?

A Vet Prevents and treats illnesses and injuries of animals. Some Duties include Diagnosing patients, Prescribing medication, Performing surgery, Giving vaccination and Providing health care recommendations to pet owners.

What you need:

You first need to earn a bachelors degree, which forms there you will go to a 4-year veterinary medicine program. After earning a D. V. M. ( Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) you must earn a license, and then you may work in settings such as Small animal clinics, Farms or Zoos. A licensed doctor of veterinary medicine with 10 years of experience in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries of pets and farm animals.

The Bachelors Degree Program:

Many schools of veterinary medicine require a bachelors degree while some schools prefer a bachelors degree. Many students earn a degree in biological science.  Schools don’t prefer a major course, as long as you take a science course. These courses include General Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Math.  Once again some schools may want a more advanced science course such as Mammalogy, Biochemistry and Animal Behaviors.

Earn a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine:

Each Successive year in a Program of Veterinary medicine builds up from the previous year. The first year of two mainly concentrates on the science of animal anatomy, Physiology, Nutrition, and Virology. These lay a frame of understanding in veterinary medicine. Some courses might be specific to an animal group.

Become Licensed:

Graduates must be licensed to practice is a clinic, farms or zoos. All states require you to successfully past the North American Veterinary Licensed Exam, with that said you might need to complete additional exams.
