Old jobs:

Ice Cutter: To keep food cold in the old days people had an icebox, this clearly demanded ice. But like nowadays ice was not available at the nearest store, citizens actually had to cut from frozen lakes and rivers. This ice was cut by men, they worked hard to get all the ice possible from the north which was frozen. This ice was then delivered and distributed throughout the country.

Elevator Operator: Back then elevators needed an individual to physically control and use them, they consisted of levers that helped to keep things moving as organized as possible, also to land the elevator cab containing people properly. Even a while after buttons was created to assist that individual controlling the elevator that person was still needed, as the buttons didn’t provide extra stops. Now the buttons work so smoothly that this civilian is not needed to help everyone else to get off on their floor.
